Hello, my name is Grace, and I am currently a Nail Technician and Salon Administration student in Ireland.

This space is an invitation to get to know each other, to discover shared values, and to find inspiration through nail care, beauty, and self-care. More than just a blog, this is the beginning of a community of women who value quality, professionalism, and personal growth.

From Psychology to Nail Care: A New Beginning in Ireland

I was born in Brazil and later lived in Spain, where I studied and worked as a Psychologist, specialising in Health Psychology, Perinatal Psychology, and Transcultural Systemic Family Psychology.

Life evolves, and recently my family and I moved to Ireland, a country that represents a new professional beginning for me.

I arrived with the intention of continuing my career in healthcare. However, not yet having a strong command of English made it impossible for me to practise as a psychologist at that time. Although psychology is often associated with listening, language is one of its most essential tools.

Discovering Nail Technology as a Career

During the summer of 2025, I discovered nail technology as a new professional path — a career that is both creative and technical, and deeply connected to well-being, beauty, and women’s self-esteem.

Earlier that year, I had applied for a place at a Higher Education Institute in a different programme. However, after returning from my summer break, I felt called to change direction. Interestingly, I became the last student accepted into the Nail Technician and Salon Administration programme — a moment that felt both symbolic and exciting.

Studying and Living in Ireland

Today, I balance college studies, work, home, and family life. It is not always easy, but I see it as a valuable opportunity — not only to study in Ireland, but to do so in a new language.

My course includes:

• Manicure and pedicure services

• Nail techniques and nail industry technologies

• Nail anatomy and nail diseases

• Hygiene procedures, sterilisation, and disinfection protocols

• Retail sales and salon administration

Building a Community Through Nail Care

Through this blog, I will share my journey as a student, mother, wife, and professional in the nail industry. My goal is to grow alongside women who value self-care, professionalism, and continuous learning.
